Emmanuel Eng

Executive Chef and Owner

Emmanuel Eng. Raised in Portland, Oregon and naturally gifted with many talents, he studied graphic design and glass blowing at Rhode Island School of Design but came to the realization that art school was not a good fit. He began his culinary career in 2000 at Indigo restaurant. Moving his way up the ranks, he worked as a line cook at some of the city's best restaurants including Aqua, Quince, and Foreign Cinema, eventually graduating to sous chef positions at Boulevard and Sons & Daughters.

In 2011, he was brought in by owners Scott Youkilis and Mike Pierce as Chef de Cuisine at Maverick and was quickly promoted to Executive Chef. Eman is also an avid cyclist who designs and fabricates bicycles in his spare time, making 16 frames to date. In 2007 he was approached by Mission Bicycle to design a line of bikes for their yet un-opened business.
